Our Services

Birth Doula

The purpose of a birth doula is continuity of care during labor and delivery. Divine Doula works collaboratively with you, your partner, and your care team to provide parent-centered care and to facilitate the birth you desire. We implement non-judgmental, compassionate support for expectant parents throughout pregnancy, birth, and into parenthood. Additionally, you will receive evidence based information that will empower you in making informed decisions with confidence knowing the benefits and risk of your concerns.

Postpartum Doula

Establishing a strong foundation is key to a healthy life. A postpartum doula is trained to help re-establish a sense of normality in the home following birth and during the recovery period. We are here to assist with nurturing your daily needs and being a resource for newborn care, breastfeeding, and more to ensure a smooth transition into parenthood.

Antepartum Doula

Having to endure a pregnancy-related complication can incur a number of stressors for both the birthing person and their partner. The daily limitations can be more than a couple can handle at times. Divine Doula offers support to families that are experiencing a difficult pregnancy, an otherwise healthy pregnancy with overwhelming variables, or one that comes with medically-directed limitations.

Childbirth Education

Divine Doula offers childbirth education classes that will provide you with the information and confidence needed to prepare for your birth and adjustment to parenthood. We believe an understanding of the birth process coupled with support alleviates fear, encourages a peaceful birthing atmosphere, and leads to optimal baby and family attachment.

Belly Binding

Postpartum Belly Binding is the African American tradition of gently wrapping the sternum and pelvis with a cloth to assist with supporting the mothers hips, back, and abdominal muscles directly in the first weeks and months after childbirth, when the core muscles are at their weakest. Belly Binding supports back muscles and postural alignment, helps shrink the uterus to its normal size (involution), supports closing of the abdominal muscles from diastasis recti, compresses the uterus to help decrease postpartum bleeding, holds hips and pelvis together to help return to its postpartum state, and alleviates back pain.
